As our client enters a new era focussed on growth, they seek to appoint a General Manager.  Based in the North West of Sydney, the General Manager will establish and drive operational excellence across all business units and be an integral member of the senior leadership team.

As General Manager of Operations

We need a strong people and business leader (Operations Manager OR State Manager OR General Manager OR Service Manager ready for the next step) who can demonstrate previous success in taking a small business to the next level.

Your ability to plan, forecast, negotiate outcomes and problem solve with a ‘can do’ attitude will ensure your success.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all services are delivered to a high-level to meet quality standards which maintain and enhance the status and reputation of the company
  • Refine, develop, implement and/ or maintain best practice, Preventative Maintenance Agreements (PMA’s), cost-effective support services that deliver high levels of customer service
  • Support the day to day operations of the business by effectively leading, managing and supporting direct reports to deliver successful results
  • Identify, implement and manage all necessary technical and operational processes, procedures and training requirements
  • Complete and update installation/ production/ maintenance schedules on a regular basis to ensure workflows are optimised
  • Oversee the day to day running of the office, technicians, estimators, sales and installation teams
  • Achieve strong co-ordination and co-operation throughout the business through effective communication, reporting, and management systems
  • Drive SWMS & WH&S requirements for projects and completion of the required documentation
  • Effectively manage and develop your team of people

What you will require to be successful

You will have extensive experience in a similar position and be able to demonstrate the ability to lead, manage and motivate within a multidisciplinary team-based environment.

The successful candidate for this pivotal role will focus on ensuring effective utilisation of labour resources as well as overseeing technical, financial and administrative management of customers and projects.

  • Your work history may come from Access Control, Industrial or Residential Automatic Gates / Doors, Door Automation, Perimeter Security, Bollards, Electrical, Air Conditioning, Lighting, Industrial Safety Equipment or aligned industries that are Maintenance or Service driven.
  • Implement, lead and deliver operational business performance initiatives, budgets and cost management to align with business plans and strategic objectives
  • Exceptional Communication and Organisation/Time Management Skills
  • A technical background/understanding of Electrical, Welding or Fabrication will be highly desirable
