With an exceptional reputation for delivery service excellence to a mix of retail, trade and online customers, they are seeking the experience of a commercially astute General Manager to develop, execute and deliver the next phase of their growth strategy.

About this exciting opportunity

Based in Brisbane, the General Manager will play a hands-on role in achieving this omni-channel retailer's growth plans. You will apply your commercial nouse and business development experience to not only drive industry innovation, source new suppliers but to seek out new products and markets.

You will have exceptional influencing, leadership and key stakeholder management skills with a strong understanding of retail and team management skills to foster a culture of continuous improvement. This will suit a “Brand Innovator” who is inclusive yet questioning, drawing on the knowledge of your team, encouraging innovation and setting the agenda. Your focus on profitable growth, an internal commitment to improving business processes through Lean programs and your ability to drive strategic and operational direction, will see this an extremely attractive position for you. We anticipate tertiary qualifications with commercial skills based on a mix of sales, marketing, supplier management and proven experience in leading the development and profitable growth of a multi sales channel business.

About You

You are an inspiring leader from within the electronic consumer goods, luxury brands, FMCG, or a similar product offering to a B2C environment, your work profile should consist of a demonstrable history of business development from within a multi-channel business. As an experienced retail/e-commerce GM, you can manage both people and a balance sheet. 

About your experience

  • 5-10 years’ general management experience in similar sector (electronic consumer goods, luxury brands, FMCG, or a similar product offering to a B2C environment

  • 5+ years’ experience managing a full P&L and balance sheet leading to EBIT growth within a retail brand will be highly regarded

  • Senior merchandising experience with demonstrated experience in achieving significant growth & profitability for the category you managed

  • A proven ability to deliver multi-channel growth & profitability

  • Exposure to working in a growing and privately owned business

  • Easily able to build relationships with manufacturer's, service providers and internal teams

  • Strong negotiation skills with a measured approach to dealing with internal and external stakeholders
